Progress update #56


Hey there, my awesome followers and Patreons! Stray Paranormal here—fashionably late as always, but hey, better late than never, right? 😅🐾 Thanks for your patience. Let’s catch up on what’s been going on!

It’s been a week of my deep dive in Blender. I grabbed a trial on Skillshare and currently binge-watch every tutorial I could find on Blender modeling. After a full week of brain-melting tutorials, I still can’t say I’m anywhere near ready to create a full landscape from scratch. 😅

Funny thing though—there are zero good tutorials on how to build a custom environment by hand. Everything is about random, procedurally generated meshes or importing real-world terrain from Google Maps. Which, honestly, doesn’t need much of a tutorial in the first place.

The Google Maps method sounded like a great idea, but turns out... not so much. You can’t rotate the map, and the plugin decides what to import based on the viewport size. Not exactly ideal when you're trying to plan out a complex beach scene with buildings, water, and a playground.

Render-wise, I’ve been filling in some missing images in already completed scenes. Hopefully, this week I can finally start rendering some new scenes and push the story forward again.
